Compare and Contrast

Summer

Not Summer

It went well.

We survived the house showing. She loved the house and he grinned through the whole viewing. They didn't put an offer in because they have to see if they can get financing. We will see how that goes.

There is another person who may come look at it so we have to keep it presentable. Good luck with that, right?

Guess who has Carpal Tunnel?

~~~Raises hand. Hand goes numb. Hand drops back into lap. Raises other hand.~~~
I went to the doctor because of some numbness in my hand and weakness in my arm. He flipped my hand over, tapped the inside of my wrist and held me down as I just about came out of my chair. Did you know you can shoot electrical current down your hand and into your middle two fingers just by tapping on an inflamed nerve in your wrist? I sure the heck didn't. Now I do.
I get to wear Cock-Up (Yes, really.) wrist splints when I sleep. How awesome is that? Not at all awesome.
Anti-inflammatory drugs for now. Injection if that doesn't work. Orthopedic consultation and possible surgery if that doesn't work.
My 2nd grader is reading at a 4.6 grade level (according to the testing). He gets that from me. ~~~Tosses hair~~~
More of a Granny Smith Apple Green
I have had no internet capabilities for the past four days. I had withdrawals.
We went to Iowa and closed on our house. I finally got to see it in person and guess what! Two good surprises. One, there is a breakfast bar in the kitchen and two, this little gem...
Notice the green! Not gross, avacado green, but a glorious, Granny Smith green! The wallpaper has got to go. I was teasing the Commander about painting the walls bright yellow and having a limon bathroom.
We also managed to visit the relatives in Minneapolis and went to the MN Zoo. I'll put some of those photos up on my Flickr account.
And then...
the home inspector called and left a message saying, "I just wanted to touch base and let you know what a nice house this is." I like nice.
I forgot to tell you, the house has a central vacuum system!
I love the 70's.
The Commander is going to retire in a year and a half or so and we have been looking up north for a house to retire to. We finally found one we both like. I don't know when it was built, but in its day, it was a looker. There are so many 1970's aspects to it. Including, but not limited to....
Green Flocked wallpaper!
Green carpeting!
Brown kitchen laminate!
With built-ins!
Plus, a billiard table and a shuffle board table! (and space in the basement to finally have my media room 'cause I love the 2000's too!) With lime green walls!
Swag!
Here she is. In all of her green-ness.
