I told him not to put the dogs in the laundry room because they chew up stuff (ie - welcome mat, washrags, rugs, etc.). Since it is snowing (heavily) here, he did what? Put them in the laundry room. Where the coat hooks are.
R.I.P. Greenie. You were a good coat.

It went well.
We survived the house showing. She loved the house and he grinned through the whole viewing. They didn't put an offer in because they have to see if they can get financing. We will see how that goes.
There is another person who may come look at it so we have to keep it presentable. Good luck with that, right?
In other news...
Guess who has Carpal Tunnel?
~~~Raises hand. Hand goes numb. Hand drops back into lap. Raises other hand.~~~
I went to the doctor because of some numbness in my hand and weakness in my arm. He flipped my hand over, tapped the inside of my wrist and held me down as I just about came out of my chair. Did you know you can shoot electrical current down your hand and into your middle two fingers just by tapping on an inflamed nerve in your wrist? I sure the heck didn't. Now I do.
I get to wear Cock-Up (Yes, really.) wrist splints when I sleep. How awesome is that? Not at all awesome.
Anti-inflammatory drugs for now. Injection if that doesn't work. Orthopedic consultation and possible surgery if that doesn't work.
In more other news...
My 2nd grader is reading at a 4.6 grade level (according to the testing). He gets that from me. ~~~Tosses hair~~~
House for sale. Inquire within.
We have people coming to look at the house tomorrow! Ack!
Luckily, we painted the TV room last weekend.
Here it is before...
Don't laugh too hard at the color. It was supposed to be mauve, but it turned out Pepto pink.
Here it is during...
Theservant Boy was thrilled to be able to help.
And after...
The color is Butter Cookie. Natch.
So, a couple is coming tomorrow to look at the house. We weren't planning on putting the house on the market until February or later, but these folks are excited about it and they wanted to come look as soon as possible. Their lease is up at the end of May and it would work out perfectly for all of us if they bought it. Fingers crossed.
We have been really busy this week during the evening and so we are having to do some major cleaning today. I'm finishing up the kitchen counters and the TV room, The Commander finished up in the living room and is taking a load of stuff to the storage room we rented. Shorty came over the other night and got most of his room finished. The Commander and I finished it up this morning. The dining room has a sack and a box of stuff I need to sort through. The office/4th bedroom is still a pit, but it is a more organized pit than it was a few months ago. The Boy is working on his room right now. How many Legos does a child need anyway? Our bedroom should be finished tonight and all we should have left to do in the morning is sweep and mop the kitchen, laundry, downstairs half bath, and the entry. And then really scrub the bathrooms after we take our showers. Oh, and vacuum the stairs. That's a lot of crap left to be done and I haven't even mentioned the closets. I think it is going to be, "Here is the closet. You can walk in there after we move."
Sick Day
Ugh. I have been feeling yucky for the past few days or so. Today, I went shooting past yucky and decided to stay home.
I managed to stumble down stairs for something to drink and have taken up residence in the recliner. I am catching up on the shows on the DVR.
The Real Housewives of Orange County. I'm addicted to this show. There are a couple of Housewives I really like - Jeana and Lauri, but there is one I would like to kick in the head - I'm talking to you Vicki. The plot thickens! Vicki admitted that she sometimes wishes she were single and the recently seperated Jeana admitted she's got her eye on Vicki's husband. Go Jeana!
American Idol. I always watch the auditions, but hardly ever watch the show. (Dear Americans, Please do not name your daughter Latrina.)
Reno 911. Need I say more?
Problem solved...
...but not really the way I wanted it to be solved.
Remember the neighbor's dog? His name is Monty.
I haven't seen him on the porch in a couple of days. (I did see a gorgeous cat, but that is a different story.) This morning I got a couple of e-mails from a friend. Her husband is the new neighbor's realtor...
"Not sure you talk to her much, but did (neighbor) tell you about her dog? One of
her dogs got attacked and I think they had to put it down. The vet thinks a
mountain lion got it. Was it the dog that was living at your house?
Anyway, (realtor) said she's pretty upset and freaked out about it. So I thought
I'd let you know so you could keep an eye on your pups."
"I think (realtor) said it was Monty now that you say his name. Not sure where she
found him but he was still barely alive and I'm pretty sure (realtor) said they
took him to the vet med center.
The vet told her that the injuries were from something very big and they
thought it was too big to be from a coyote. Something nasty about head
injuries - and bites that were much bigger than a coyote could have made.
Anyway, I know every once in a while you hear about some farmer claiming
they saw a cougar/mountain lion/panther around here. I know they are not
common, but I think it's possible - who knows.
(Realtor) said (neighbor) was talking about writing something for the newspaper - a letter to the editor, I guess? - but something to tell people in the area to be
careful. She's pretty upset and said she was going to warn her neighbors so
I'm sure you'll hear more from her soon."
Wow. Poor Monty. He was so sweet. The last I saw of him is when I shooed him out of our front yard back into his last week sometime.
What a horrible way to go.
Excuse me, but I think you've got my chair.
I'm supposed to blog here about going down to OKC with the Lovely Ladies to see George Strait this past Friday night.
Okay!
I would rerun a post about the last time we went to see him, but I can't find the post and (big and) I can't remember when we went last. It may have something to do with the amount of alcohol I drank that night. So I'll give you a quick update...
Whenever it was we went last - We started out at a Mexican restaurant. Two of us split a pitcher of mighty fine tasting Margaritas and the third had a beer with our dinner.
Then we walked over to the bar we like and met up with the fourth Lovely Lady. It was here that I was introduced to the Colorado Bulldog and the Buttery Nipple. I had one of each. Then we shot pool until it was time to go on down the street to the concert venue.
So let me recap - half a pitcher of goodness + Colorado Bulldog + Buttery Nipple = me not walking well. I was chided for not keeping up with the group as we walked to the concert. Aren't my friends nice? (At least I didn't slip into an alley to take a leak. Ahem.)
Then, at the concert (third row!), I tended to close my eyes for a bit while King George was on the other side of the square stage where we couldn't see him. I got nudged a lot and told to wake up. I wasn't sleeping, I swear! Plus, since I am really old, it was so stinking loud. The Ladies would try to talk to me and I would just smile and nod 'cause I couldn't hear a thing they were saying.
This year, it wasn't that bad. Four of us split the pitcher. I subtracted the Bulldog, but added an extra Nipple. (If you are at all interested in making a bartender just a little speechless, when he asks for your order, loudly (Is there any other way in a bar?)declare, "I would like TWO BUTTERY NIPPLES!") I like to knock one back and then slowly sip on the other. If you haven't had one of these and you are a drinker, please try one. Seriously.
At this concert, we were on the second row! From the back! Our ticket buyer didn't have the luck she had last time. We had fun none the less.
'Cause what is not to like when you are out with the Ladies?
Cooper and The New Guy
Cooper (left) and The New Guy (right)
We finally settled on a new name for TNG. Amadeus wasn't cutting it. The Boy wanted to call him Butterscotch (Coooper's name at the pound.). We settled for Scotch.
Why did it take so long to post a photo of them?
Because this is how they normally are...
We also have a bit of a conundrum. The new neighbor lady has three or four dogs. All but one she keeps in the barn or in a fenced in area in the side yard at all times. The one she doesn't keep locked up? Has taken up residence on our front porch. His name is Monty and he is a Black Lab juvenile. He is so sweet. He sleeps on our porch furniture (luckily he hasn't torn any of the cushions up unlike the last Black Lab that lived next door). I don't think she ever puts him up. He was sleeping on the porch last night and still there when we got up this morning. Should I say something to her? Should we take his collar off and make him ours? (Like we need three dogs.) Should we stay with the status quo?
